Hymns

All peoples of the universe,
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice,
Him loudly praise and gladly serve,
Into His presence, come with songs.

Know that the Lord is God indeed!
He made us, we belong to Him;
We, all on earth, his people are,
The flock he tends, the sheep we are.

O enter then his gates with praise,
These courts of his approach with joy,
Give thanks to him who reigns on high,
And bless his ever holy name.

The Lord is gracious, He is good;
Eternal is His love for us.
His mercy lasts from age to age.
His faithfulness has never failed.

To God the Father glory be,
To Jesus Christ, his Son, Our Lord
And to the Spirit, source of love,
Give praise both now and evermore.

A lamp for our steps has been given,
A light has been set on a hill;
God's Word in its truth may be trusted,
By all who surrender their will.
To order the chaos of darkness,
Give hope in the midst of despair,
To make of our lives new creations
And lighten the burdens we bear.

Lord, grant to us eyes ever watchful,
And ears ever open to hear,
The Word that in love you are speaking,
The Word that dispels all our fear.
Your death-resurrection has claimed us,
But pardon our flesh that is weak;
You know that our spirits are willing,
Give strength with the Word that you speak.

A New Commandment I give unto you,
That you love one another As I have loved you. (2)

By this shall all know that you are My disciples,
If you have love one for another. (2)

You are my friends if you do what I command you.
Without my help you can nothing. (2)

I am the true Vine, my Father is the Gardner,
Abide in me and I in you. (2)

True, Love is patient, nor arrogant, nor boastful.
Love bears all things, love is eternal. (2)

Abba Father, if this cup,
cannot pass from me,
not my will but yours be done:
To the dregs will I drink.

In the scroll it written stands
That I should do your holy will.
In your law will I delight
In the depth of my heart.

Not for sacrifice you ask;
here is my off’ring an open ear,
See the holocaust I bring:
Here am I, O Lord.

Your compassion, love and truth,
constantly turns my death into life Lord,
Lord, your justice I proclaim
To my friends gathered here.

Abba Father, let us be,
yours and yours alone.
Set our hearts, our spirits free.
Make us, Lord, your own.

Through your goodness, Lord we bring
Bread of our labour and wine to cheer the heart
Which will soon be filled for us
With the life of your Son.

Take this drop of water, too,
Sign of our weakness, yet symbol of our love.
By its mingling may we share
Your divinity.

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word;
But as Thou dwell’st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.

Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings,
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea—
Come, Friend of sinners, and thus bide with me.

Thou on my head in early youth didst smile;
And, though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee,
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.

I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

Accept Almighty Father
These gifts of bread and wine
Which now the priest is offering
For us before Thy shrine
But soon the Word will make them
His Body and his Blood
The sacrifice renewing
Once offered on the rood.

With these although unworthy,
Some offering we would make
But all we have thou gavest
Then what thou gavest take
Our hearts, our souls, our senses
We give through Mary's hands
Who by the cross once standing
Now by the alter stands.

O God by that co-mingling
Of water and of wine,
May he who took our nature
Give us his life divine.
Come thou, who make-st holy
And bless this sacrifice.
Then shall our gift be pleasing
To thee above the skies.

Accept almighty Father,
The work of human hands,
The fruit which eart has given,
Obedient to your plans.
They symbolize our hearts, Lord
So change them by your word
Into a worthy offering:
Your Son’s own flesh and blood.

We fail to keep Your covenant
We fail to do our part
So now we bring this offering
With humbled contrite heart
We bring You our thanksgiving
We come to You with praise
We ask You for Your blessings
As now our hearts we raise.

Adeste, fideles, Laeti triumphantes,
Venite, venite in Bethlehem!
Natum videte, Regem angelorum

Venite, adoremus! (x2)
Venite, adoramus Dominum! (x2)

Aeterni Parentis splendorem aeternum
Velatum sub carne videbimus,
Deum infantem, pannis involutum

Adoremus in aeternum
Sanctissimum Sacramentum. (x2)

Laudate Dominum Omnes Gentes
Laudate Eum Omnes Populi

Quoniam confirmata est super nos misericordia eius
Et veritas Domini manet in aeternum.

Gloria Patri Et Filio et Spiritui Sancto
Sicut erat in Principio et Nunc et Semper
et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.

All creatures of our God and King,
Lift up your voice and with us sing:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
O burning sun with golden beam
And silver moon with softer gleam:
Oh, praise God! Oh, praise God!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

O rushing wind and breezes soft,
O clouds that ride the winds aloft:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
O rising morn, in praise rejoice,
O lights of evening, find a voice.
Oh, praise God! Oh, praise God!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

O flowing waters, pure and clear,
Make music for your Lord to hear.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
O fire so masterful and bright,
Providing us with warmth and light,
Oh, praise God! Oh, praise God!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Dear mother earth, who day by day
Unfolds rich blessings on our way,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
The fruits and flow'rs that verdant grow,
Let them God's praise abundant show.
Oh, praise God! Oh, praise God!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

O ev'ry one of tender heart,
Forgiving others, take your part,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
All you who pain and sorrow bear,
Praise God on whom you cast your care.
Oh, praise God! Oh, praise God!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

And you, most kind and gentle death,
Waiting to hush our final breath,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
You lead to heav'n the child of God,
Where Christ our Lord the way has trod.
Oh, praise God! Oh, praise God!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship God in humbleness,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Oh praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One!
Oh, praise God! Oh, praise God!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

All glory, praise, and honour
To you, Redeemer, King!
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring.

You are the King of Israel,
And David's royal Son,
Now in the Lord's Name coming,
Our King and Blessed One.

All glory, praise, and honour
To you, Redeemer, King!
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring.

The company of angels
Are praising you on high;
And mortals, joined with all things
Created, make reply.

All glory, praise, and honour
To you, Redeemer, King!
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring.

The people of the Hebrews
With palms before you went:
Our praise and prayers and anthems
Before you we present.

All glory, praise, and honour
To you, Redeemer, King!
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring.

To you before your passion
They sang their hymns of praise:
To you, now high exalted,
Our melody we raise.

All glory, praise, and honour
To you, Redeemer, King!
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring.

Their praises you accepted,
Accept the prayers we bring,
Great source of love and goodness,
Our Saviour and our King.

All I ask of you is forever to remember me as loving you.
All I ask of you is forever to remember me as loving you.

Deep the joy of being together in one heart
and for me that’s just where it is.

As we make our way through all the joys and pain,
can we sense our younger, truer selves?

Someone will be calling you to be there for a while.
Can you hear the cry from deep within?

Laughter, joy and presence: the only gifts you are.
Have you time? I’d like to be with you.

Persons come into the fibre of our lives,
and then their shadow fades and disappears.

All I need is love, all I need is love,
I take no delight in your offering, but in a humble heart.
All I need is love; all I need is love,
All I want is a contrite Spirit, all I need is love.

How can you recite my commandments
And take my covenant on your lips?
You who despise my law
And throw my Words to the winds?

You throw your lot with the sinners,
You're always ready to tell lies.
Such are your ways, your deeds,
Should I make no signs and be quiet?

What I really want from my people:
A sincere sacrifice of praise,
The trust that I come to save,
A cry to me in their needs.

All over the world, the Spirit is moving,
All over the world, as the prophets said it would be
All over the world, there’s a mighty revelation
Of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

All over the land...
All over the Church...
All over us all...
Deep down in my heart...

All that I am, all that I do,
All that I’ll ever have I offer now to You.
All that I’ll dream, all that I pray,
All that I’ll ever make, I give to You today.

Take and sanctify these gifts for Your honour, Lord,
Knowing that I love and serve you is enough reward.

All the ends of the earth, all you creatures of the sea,
lift up your eyes to the wonders of the Lord.
For the Lord of the earth, the Master of the sea,
has come with justice for the world.

Break into song at the deeds of the Lord,
the wonders God has done in every age.

Heaven and earth shall rejoice in your might;
every heart, every nation call you Lord.

The Lord has made salvation known,
faithful to the promises of old.
Let the ends of the earth, let the sea and all it holds
make music before our God!

All things are thine, O Lord:
we offer thee what we receive from thy hand.

Blessed art thou, O Lord, Israel’s God, for all ages.
Thine is the power and glory and splendour.

Thou art the ruler, Lord, over the earth and the
heavens, only the hand gives greatness and strengthens.

Therefore this day, O Lord, praises and thanks
do we give thee; thy name be blessed for ever and ever.

Chorus:
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flow’r that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The purple-headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

All through the day, All through the night
Dwell in his promises, walk in his light.
Darkness shall flee at his command
All through the day and night we're in his hand

All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all,
I surrender all,
All to thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord I want to follow Thee;
Lose my life that I may save it,
Through thy cross gain victory.

All to Jesus I surrender;
born of Mary, God’s own Son;
Through this Eucharistic banquet,
Make me Jesus with Thee one.

All to Jesus I surrender,
May I see thee in the poor;
In the fight against oppression,
Let me never Thee ignore.

All to Jesus I surrender,
take me to Thy Father’s side;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that He’s my guide.

All you children of peace
And all you lovers of freedom,
All you seekers of justice
All who wait for messiah to come

Rejoice in the Lord, rejoice (x2)
For He is coming to rule the earth,
Rejoice in the Lord, rejoice

All who trust in His love
All who wait for His righteousness,
All who’ve tasted His mercy
All who hope in His faithfulness.

All you nations, sing out your joy to the Lord: Alleluia, alleluia!

Joyfully shout, all you on earth, give praise to the glory of God;
And with a hymn, sing out with glorious praise: Alleluia!

Lift up your hearts, sing to your God: tremendous your deeds on the earth!
Vanquished your foes, struck down by power and might: Alleluia!

Let all the earth kneel in God's sight, extolling God's marvellous fame;
Honour God's name, in highest heaven give praise: Alleluia!

Come forth and see all the great works that God has brought forth in great might;
Fall on your knees before the glorious throne: Alleluia!

Parting the seas with might and power, God rescued the chosen from shame;
Let us give thanks for all these merciful deeds: Alleluia!

All you nations, sing out your joy to the Lord: Alleluia, alleluia!
God's eyes keep watch on all the earth, God's strength is forever renewed;
And let no one rebel against God's commands; Alleluia!

Tested are we by God the Lord, as silver is tested by fire;
Burdened with pain, we fall ensnared in our sins; Alleluia!

Over our heads wicked ones rode, we passed through the fire and the flood;
Then, Lord, you brought your people into your peace: Alleluia!

Glory and thanks be to the Father; honour and praise to the Son;
And to the Spirit, source of life and of love; Alleluia!

Alleluia! Alleluia!
Christ has risen from the dead,
He has risen to die no more.

At the dawn of Easter morning,
When the stone was rolled away.
Then from the darkness rose in glory,
Jesus Christ, true risen Light,
Brightening all the earth's dark night.

From the depths of weary bondage,
All mankind has risen too,
All eyes are opened from their blindness
To the Light of heavenly view,
And with Christ they rise anew.

Now the heart of every creature
Fills with hope and with gratitude;
They rise resplendent from their bondage,
For their Lord has set them free,
From the power of death's decree.

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
Young sons and daughters, let us sing!
The King of Heav’n, the glorious King,
O’er death today rose triumphing.Alleluia!

That Easter morn, at break of day,
The faithful women went their way
To seek the tomb where Jesus lay.

An angel clad in white they see,
Who sat, and spoke unto the three,
“Your Lord doth go to Galilee.”

On this most holy day of days,
To God your hearts and voices raise,
In laud and jubilee and praise.

And we with Holy Church unite,
As evermore is just and right,
In glory to the King of light.
