Hymns

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word;
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.

Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings,
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea
Come, Friend of sinners, and thus bide with me.

Thou on my head in early youth didst smile;
And, though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee,
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.

I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon ( them / Him / Her )

I will never forget you my people,
I have carved you on the palm of My hand,
I will never forget you,
I will not leave you orphaned,
I will never forget my own…

Does a mother forget her baby,
Or a woman the child within her womb,
Yet even if these forget,
Yes even if these forget,
I will never forget my own.

I am the bread of life.
He who comes to me shall not hunger;
he who believes in me shall not thirst.
No one can come to me
unless the Father draw him.

And I will raise him up,
and I will raise him up,
and I will raise him up on the last day.

The bread that I will give
is my flesh for the life of the world,
and he who eats of this bread,
he shall live for ever,
he shall live for ever.

Unless you eat
of the flesh of the Son of Man
and drink of his blood,
and drink of his blood,
you shall not have life within you.

I am the resurrection,
I am the life.
He who believes in me
even if he die,
he shall live for ever.

Yes, Lord, I believe
that you are the Christ,
the Son of God,
who has come
into the world.

If we live, it's for the Lord,
If we die, it's for the Lord,
For Christ rose to be the Lord
Of the living and of the dead.

For I know that my Redeemer lives,
At the end he'll stand upon the earth,
He shall be a witness by my side,
He will come to my defence

Where, O death, where is your victory?
Where, O death, where is your power to hurt?
For the Lord has conquered sin and death,
By his cross we are made free!

We were dead through our own trespasses,
We obeyed the promptings of the world;
But with Christ we have now risen,
By his grace we have been saved.

Do not sleep as children of the night,
Stay awake as children of the day.
For the Lord has risen from the dead:
It is this that we proclaim.

In His time, in His time,
He makes all things beautiful in His time.
Lord, please show me everyday
As You’re teaching me Your way,
That you do just what You say in Your time.

In Your time, in Your time,
You make all things beautiful in Your time.
Lord, my life to You I bring,
With its winter and its spring,
May I fathom everything in Your time.

There’s a time, there’s a time
Both for sowing and for reaping there’s a time.
Time for losing, time for gain,
Time for joy and time for pain,
Every purpose under heaven has a time.

There are times, there are days,
Weeks and months we cannot understand God’s ways.
If for years we fail to scan
What is his eternal plan,
We’ll remember that He can, all the time.

In the Lord, is my hope,
In the Lord, is my help.
He’s my shield and my strength.
He’s my fortress: I stand firm.

I’ve no fear of the night and its shadow,
I’ve no fear of the plague that prowls around,
For Your light shines, O Lord, in the darkness,
And Your brightness, leads me on.

I’ve no fear if alone I’ll be walking,
I’ve no fear if the journey is so long,
For it’s You, Lord, the way to the Father,
On Your path, I am safe.

I’ve no fear of the death that surrounds me,
I’ve no fear in a world of woes and ills,
For I know, Lord, You grant life eternal
If I only hope in You.

I’ve no fear if assailed by disaster,
I’ve no fear in the midst of pain and gloom,
For You are, Lord, my joy my salvation.
Alleluia! Praise the Lord!

Into Your hands we commend our spirit O Lord,
Into Your hands we commend our hearts.
For we must die to ourselves in loving You,
Into Your hands we commend our love.

O God, my God, why have You gone from me,
Far from my prayers, far from my cry?
To You I call and you never answer me,
You send no comfort and I don’t know why!

You’ve been my guide since I was very yound,
You showed the way, you brought relief;
But now I’m lonely, nobody’s by my side:
Take heed, my Lord, listen to my prayer.

Lose yourself in me and you will find yourself
Lose yourself in me and you will find new life
Lose yourself in me and you will find yourself
And you will live, yes you will live in my heart.

Unless a grain of wheat, falls into the ground
It still remains but a grain of wheat
But if it falls and dies, then it bears much fruit
So it is with those who lose themselves in me.

Though foxes have their holes, birds a little nest
The Son of man, no place to rest
Whoever loves his life or strives the world to gain
Will only find that life was lived in vain.

If we have died with Him, we shall live with Him
If we endure, we’ll reign with Him
Though faithless we may be, faithful He’ll remain
For how can Christ be false unto Himself?

Nearer my God to thee, nearer to thee,
Even though it be a cross that raiseth me.
Still all my song shall be: nearer my God to thee.
Nearer my God to thee, nearer to thee.

Deep in thy Sacred Heart, let me abide,
Thou who hast bled for me, sorrowed and died.
Sweet shall my weeping be, grief surely leading me,
Nearer my God to thee, nearer to thee.

Our hearts were made for you, Lord
Our hearts were made for you.
They’ll never find, never find, never find rest
Until they find their rest in you.

When you call me I will answer,
When you seek me you will find,
I will lead you back from exile
And reveal to you my mind.

I will take you from the nations
And will bring you to your land.
From your idols I will cleanse you
And you’ll cherish my command.

I will put my law within you,
I will write it on your heart;
I will be your God and Saviour,
You, my people set apart.

Rejoice, rejoice, and be glad:
Your reward is great in heaven.

Happy are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom,
Happy are the gentle, for theirs is the land.
Happy are the mourners, for they shall be joyful,
Those who work for justice will have their victory.

Happy the forgiving, for theirs is forgiveness,
Happy are the pure of heart for they shall see the Lord.
Happy those who suffer, for theirs is the kingdom,
Happy are the peaceful for they are heirs of God.

Time is too short, even though we have forever
To sing our praises to the King of kings.

We look at the earth and it speaks your name.
We look to the hills and they sing your praise.
We look to the stars and they shout with joy:
"He is Lord, Lord of all creation".

We look to the cross and it tells your fame,
Death and resurrection we proclaim;
At the end of time you will come again
As the Lord, Lord of our salvation.

Listen to the Word, it will give you light
Gather round the board, eat the bread of life
Be like Jesus Christ who a slave became
But was made Lord of every nation.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

For tribulation danger or distress
Cannot make us love him less.

And in the face of peril or the sword,
We'll affirm that he is Lord.

Though we be persecuted for his sake,
There's no doubt his cross we'll take.

For Jesus is our Shepherd, he's our Friend,
We shall love him to the end.

And in the fight for justice we shall stand,
Knowing well he'll hold our hand.

For Christ is truly risen, as he said.
Jesus is no longer dead.
